Description of Figure 12
Multiple Connected Radios
This figure shows 2 connected radios, one with OE1 and the other with OE2. That is essentially:
[ radio1(OE1) ] <~~~> [ radio2(OE2) ]
To show more detail, including the waveforms, the content is:
[ WF1 <=> OE1 <=> WFTX ] <~~~> [ WFRX <=> OE2 <=> WF2 ]
“<~~~>” indicates the connection between the radios as an over the air (OTA) signal; however, it could be replaced by Ethernet or CORBA or RPC, easily in the diagram. WFTX> and WFRX may be interchanged or replaced.
The point was that WF1 and WF2 don’t have to be connected directly. They can be connected in a variety of ways, including OTA. This is obviously the way that command and control might work.
